In Koh Lanta, we stayed on the south end of Long Beach, one of the more popular beaches of the island. We stumbled across Angel Bungalows run by Than and Bun, a wonderful couple that built each bungalow themselves over a span of 6 months! Although the Thai style bungalows had fans (no A/C), they were extremely spacious (king sized beds) and immaculately clean, surrounded by coconut trees and a short walk to the ocean. We were lulled to sleep by chirping crickets and croaking frogs each night and truly felt the Thai “no worries” lifestyle. A must stay on Koh Lanta!
Cost: 400 baht per night
Cleanliness: A+
Internet: Café around the corner charged 30B / hour
Location: B; down the street from Korner Bar; have to rent a moped to get to the “action”.

Cultural sites and excursions are limited, leaving the [...]

Staying in a brick bungalow with only the sounds of frogs and crickets, we relaxed and lulled into 5 nights of wonderful slumber [...]

So far, Thailand beaches have been really relaxing and we’ve found some of our favorite spots in the last seven weeks and found that some are overrated in the guide books. Although similar, there are a few things that stand out in each that could make or break your beach time.

Hello Manali and Terry,
Kelly and I are jealous of your continued travels. I guess we have to live vicariously thru until we can take another trip. Any more diving yet? Were back here enjoying winter and getting ready for family and Christmas. Travel safe!!
Those bungalows look great – can't believe they built them themselves. Mush and I are catching up on your travels and are both super jealous!! Miss you guys!
