On a recommendation from a random lady, we knew nothing about Wollongong National Park, but since we had a rental car and some time, we decided ‘what the heck’, let’s go! On our way back from the Blue Mountains, we drove the recently opened “Grand Pacific Drive” tourist trail and stopped at the sights along the way.
We began at Seven Mile Beach National Park and made our way north up the oceanic road to Sydney, about a 100km journey. We took in the beautiful rocky coastal landscape, cliffs, surfing beaches and look out points.
If you are daring, you can even hand-glide from Bald Hill point and see the spectacular coast line from an eagle’s point of view!
Kiama blowhole was a fun, water splashing sight!
Austimer Beach was one of our favorites, even though it was a little chilly!
Seacliff bridge was a roller coaster of a drive – apparently a perfect spot to see whales in breeding season (July to August) each year.
