This award winning hostel was one of our favorites. The common rooms, kitchens (a little small, but one on each floor) and bathrooms were spotless and recently renovated, the beds were comfortable and long (enough for Terry’s long legs not to stick out from the covers!), awesome rooftop views equipped with BBQs, and a helpful staff at the 24 hour reception. Located right in the middle of the CBD on Flinders and Spencer, the tram stop is right outside the hostel and grocery store was a short walk away. The hostel also had numerous activities throughout the week and offered cheap beer and eats in the basement restaurant. Overall, highly recommended for anyone visiting Melbourne!

Cost: $35 for a 4 share dorm bed per person, $90 for a double room (high season prices)
Internet: $4 / hour

Although a little more expensive than the competition, the extra pennies are worth the cleanliness and free activities that the hostel offers. The café downstairs offers the “Meal [...]
