Manali + Terry spent Christmas in Amberg, Germany where Terry’s parents currently reside. Manali + Terry also visited Prague during that time, and spent New Years in Amsterdam. One thing we will certainly remember about this trip is that Europe can be VERY cold in the winter months. The problem of cold weather is compounded when you get to cities like Prague and Amsterdam, when there is so much to see and do, but you have to move around the city on foot to be in the game. We also got my parents the Garmin Nuvi 270 for Christmas, which had the American and European maps loaded, which was a blessing, especially when trying to find Esso gas stations.

Manali + Terry spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Bahrain, and had a brief stay in Dubai. The life I had a glimpse of in Bahrain is something I would equate to what I imagine Boca Raton to be, relaxation, socializing, lots of eating and many a hosted party. I’m not sure if this is the life enjoyed by all in Bahrain, but certainly the one I experienced and enjoyed. Bahrain is like the laid back sibling of its busier brother, Dubai. Although Bahrain has seen its share of investment, beach reclamation and man made islands, Dubai is like the development engine of the Middle East. Amidst the many wonders, you’ll see the world’s tallest building (Burj Dubai) and the worlds largest mall (Mall of Dubai) in the video.

St. Augustine, Florida
Manali + Terry spent part of their summer holiday with friends while camping on the beach. I believe this was our third year in a row. You can rarely beat camping on the beach, especially those as nice as beaches in St. Augustine. Known for being the oldest city in America, the city also has a rich culture and even its own fort!

Manali + Terry were fortunate enough to have two weddings. The first, a traditional Indian wedding, including festivities leading up to the wonderful day. One of the greatest experiences of our lives, there is nothing that can be compared against a full Indian wedding ceremony, in India. There were thousands of weddings that day, an auspicious one according to Hindu belief, and everyone different in some way. When you have the opportunity, because it is likely you will, plan to try an experience an India wedding. If not as a bride or groom, most definitely as a guest. You won’t be sorry!

Terry’s first time skydiving in Eugene, OR. Nothing provides the exhilaration of standing on a 10,000 foot precipice, with nothing to save you from the ground but a lightweight piece of fabric. Jumping out of a plane is not the same as roller coaster, you don’t have that feeling of inertia, its just wind blowing by you. Time also goes by way faster than you think it would, and I would of sworn that the 45 seconds of free fall experienced lasted no more than 20.
